Valerie (Ramirez) Mukherjee
Founder, Executive Chair
Val is a former Wall Street and Silicon Valley executive turned entrepreneur. A first-generation, low-income college student, raised by a single mother, she transformed her life through education and self-funded her way through Berkeley, Columbia, and Wharton. She later worked at several preeminent technology and finance firms before starting her own investment firm. Growing up in a poor, crime-ridden Bay area neighborhood, she experienced firsthand the trauma of unrecognized, undiagnosed, and untreated mental health disorders within family and friends. She drives MindStreet’s “Netflix of Mental Health,” vision to make mental health programs accessible, affordable, and stigma-free. Val is a nationally ranked tennis player and was a first-time nominee for US Congress. She lives in the greater Seattle area with her husband of 20 years and two teenage children.
Brian Mayhugh, PhD
CEO
Dr. Brian Mayhugh is a licensed clinician and healthcare executive with over 30 years of experience in the behavioral health, employee assistance, and managed care industry. He has designed, built, and launched several digital products, protocols, tools, processes, and benefit programs that covered over 8 million lives 38,000 clients, and 25,000 network providers. His clinical experience includes treating outpatient, hospital, and residential patients and crisis management. Prior to his current role, Dr. Mayhugh has served as Chief Medical Officer, Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer, overseeing executive, clinical, provider, compliance, and operations teams at public (Nasdaq) and PE/VC funded private companies. Brian is a keen sailor and clay shooter and lives in Newport Beach, CA with his wife of 30+ years and has two grown sons.
Dr. Jesse Wright, M.D., Ph.D.
Co-Founder & Chair, Advisory Board
Dr. Wright is a world-renowned pioneer in the development of digital behavioral health tools. He was the principal author of the first multimedia computer program for psychotherapy and led the production and validation of the Good Days Ahead (GDA) program for depression and anxiety. Over the past two decades, GDA has been extensively studied and clinically validated with over $6 million of grant support from the National Institutes of Health.
Nora Betancourt
Director, Business Development
A key member of MindStreet’s fast-growing sales team, Nora is responsible for building and
maintaining new and existing relationships with organizations looking to provide accessible,
affordable, stigma-free mental health care to their employees and dependents. Nora's
dedication to making a difference in people’s lives is a hallmark of her professional
journey. She has an innate ability to forge connections with people to build relationships
based on trust and empathy. Earlier, Nora was a Co-founder and Project Director at TGA
Productions, a Newport Beach, CA-based film production company.
A native of Orange County, Nora is passionate about connecting with local professionals to promote
the County and is active in the Small Business Diversity Network (SBDN). This non-profit organization
supports underserved US small businesses, including minority, women, veterans, LGBT, and disabled-owned
businesses. Outside of work, Nora enjoys photography, cooking, and travel.
Samuel L. Mayhugh, Ph.D.
Director
Dr. Mayhugh is a trained psychologist with over 40 years of practice and executive leadership of behavioral health companies. His career includes successful innovations in hospital and outpatient behavioral healthcare delivery and benefits management. He was the founder and served as CEO and Chief Clinical Officer of Integrated Behavioral Health a leading managed behavioral health company for over 30 years before it was acquired.
S. Brian Mukherjee
Director
Brian is the Founder and Managing Partner of Harmonic Equity, a venture equity firm that provides capital, resources, and mentorship to rapidly scale aspiring technology companies. An engineer and operator turned investor, he has served as Chairman, Director, CEO, and Executive at several public (NASDAQ, LSE) and private, VC/PE-backed companies. Brian led over a dozen companies in the adtech, martech, healthtech, SaaS, data and marketplaces/exchanges through hyper growth, transformations, turnarounds, and exits during his career.
